Seit sich die 12 Musiker der "Munich Ceili Band" im Jahr 1999 zusammen- gefunden haben, tanzen zu ihren Reel und Jigs einmal montalich die Gäste des Kilians Irish Pubs. Unter der Leitung von Alison Moffat umfasst die Fangemeinde der Munich Ceili Band nicht nur Tänzer, sondern alle Liebhaber von tradtionellen Irish Tunes. Wundern Sie sich also nicht, wenn am Freitag ab 20:30 Uhr auf dem Greenfarm Festival Ihre Füsse zu steppen beginnen und Ihr Körper sich im Takt wiegt - dann ist CEILI TIME . Unter Anleitung von Frau Barbara Dillon wird sichergestellt, dass wirklich jeder (auch diejenigen mit den zwei linken Füßen) die Nacht durchtanzen kann.
José F. Sánchez - Dance Caller
José originally comes from New York City, where he started playing the fiddle and was introduced to Irish dance. He’s been living and working as a painter and printmaker in Würzburg, Germany, since1985. He started organizing music sessions and then holding dance workshops in his Studio, which then blossomed into the Folk Club
Würzburg e.V.. He teaches dance weekly and gives weekend workshops to dancers all over Europe as well as organizing ceilis and concerts, sometimes combining the event with an exhibition of his original artwork with themes relating to music and dance.
José will bring out the dancer in you whether you have previously have danced or not. With short instructions you will be moving to the rhythms and dancing in formation in the style of the great dance halls of Ireland. You will surprise yourself as you dance the figures and discover the joy that these dances have provided people
for hundreds of years. If you haven’t tried to dance yet, this is the time to start! José will open the door to the world of Irish Céilí, Set and Two Hand dances for you. All you have to do is step in, stay loose, listen to the calls, enjoy yourself and keep on
moving!
Don’t be surprised if you see José dancing at a concert, at a festival, in a pub or on the lawn or in the streets, wherever there happens to be some good dance tunes being played. Go ahead and join him if you like!
